Our facility, completed in 2023, is state-of-the-art and purpose-built to meet modern law enforcement needs. But what truly sets us apart is our commitment to developing well-rounded officers—professionals who are not just technically capable but also grounded in integrity, compassion, and sound judgment.
Some advantages include:
A key objective of the academy is to serve not only our agency but the broader Gulf South law enforcement community. We welcome participation from other departments across Mississippi and neighboring states, especially those seeking high-quality, well-rounded, efficient, and character-driven training for their officers. Our priority is to have our graduates trained in all areas of basic law enforcement, ready and able to begin their first phase of field training without any required additional training.
Aligning with our mission to deliver effective, high-quality training that develops both professional capability and personal character, our facility boasts:
We are open to serving out-of-state agencies. Our programs are built to meet Mississippi standards but can be adapted to support the needs of departments from neighboring states. We see regional cooperation as a vital part of building consistent, professional public safety practices across local, state and federal jurisdictions.
The Academy helps build safer communities by preparing law enforcement officers who are not only knowledgeable and tactically proficient but also disciplined, compassionate, and committed to public service. By raising the standard of training in our region, we strengthen the agencies (and therefore the communities) that serve the citizens of Harrison County and beyond. Through transparency and engagement, we are able to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public
In line with our community-focused mission, we offer the following for regular citizens or citizen organizations:
These services reflect our belief that public safety is a shared responsibility and that education empowers citizens and organizations to take proactive steps in protecting themselves.
While our facility is primarily reserved for law enforcement training, portions of it may be available for use by vetted outside organizations for approved purposes. These include safety seminars, inter-agency collaboration, outside agency in-service training or community-based training. Each request is reviewed individually to ensure alignment with our mission and security standards.
